Our Story
Just about every fishing guide that moves to Western North Carolina comes here for trout fishing. I was one of those guides. And while I enjoyed doing it for years, especially in the small streams, I came to realize the trout fishing in most of the big rivers of WNC is all manufactured, and not an authentic experience. In fact, by definition, all of the trout that are stocked are invasive species, just a profitable one. Most people that come to this area come for the trout, but I want to change that. Bass are what got most people into fishing, either as kids or adults, and I am one of those people. Their aggression and predatory nature has always mystified me. Smallmouth bass are native to this area and do not get the respect that they deserve. They are the true kings of the river, and have been since the dawn of time. I want to show you how fun this fish can be and start helping people associate this area with that mountain bronze!
